PIX, AI, and digital wallets dominate SBC Summit Americas’ LatAm payments & tech track

(AsiaGameHub) –   The rise of Pix, digital wallets, and embedded finance is ushering in a new era of competition within Latin America’s gaming sector. As operators find themselves increasingly evaluated on their payment experiences alongside their product offerings, the SBC Summit Americas will delve into this evolving landscape through its dedicated “LATAM Payments & Tech” track.

Scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, at the Broward County Convention Center, this track will provide attendees with direct insights from prominent operators, fintech and payment providers, and regulatory bodies from across the Americas.

This track is a key component of the SBC Summit Americas’ comprehensive six-stage conference agenda, which covers sports betting and casino, affiliation, leadership, player protection, and regulation. Each stage will alternate its focus between North and Latin America over the two-day event.

“What makes Latin America such an exciting market right now is how naturally technology has become part of everyday life. People are used to instant payments, seamless apps, and digital experiences that simply work. Those expectations are carrying over into gaming as well,” stated Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC.

“That is creating a major shift for operators. Payments, user experience, and player engagement are no longer separate conversations because together they shape how players experience a brand. The LATAM Payments & Tech track explores how those worlds are starting to merge.”

The session titled ‘Wallet wars: Changing the LatAM Landscape’ will examine how wallet ecosystems such as *Mercado Pago* and *Rappi* are transforming mobile commerce throughout Latin America. Industry experts Juan Flores (CEO, Payefy), Mariola de la Piedra Quelle (CMO, Grupo Gelsa), and Carlos Sandoval (Chairman & CEO, Apuesteria) will discuss whether operators should integrate with these established platforms or pursue in-house financial services directly linked to the gaming experience.

Focusing specifically on Brazil’s payment environment, the panel ‘PIX: Instant Payments’ will investigate how Pix has revolutionized payment behaviors in the country. Speakers Rony Silva (CTO, Aposta Ganha), Paulo Chastinet (CAO, Segurobet), Marc Crean (CPO, Todos Querem Jogar), and Thomas Carvalhaes (iGaming Expert) will analyze how instant payments have reshaped player expectations regarding speed and convenience, while also exploring how operators can implement emerging features like PIX Automático.

The session ‘Tech Titans: How Innovation is Powering the Next Digital Frontier’ will broaden the discussion to explore how technology, gaming, and e-commerce are driving the next phase of Latin America’s digital economy. Industry leaders Javier Troncoso (CEO & Co-Founder, InsightPlay.AI) and Pedro Landa (COO, Miela Digital) will highlight the region’s emergence as a global technology hub, identifying the technologies poised to fuel future growth while addressing challenges related to scalability, infrastructure, and regulation.

Following an examination of how payments and technology are transforming player transactions, the conversation will shift to how operators are re-evaluating the broader player journey across both digital and physical environments.

The session ‘Building a Unified Casino Experience in an Omnichannel World’ will address the increasing pressure on operators to deliver seamless experiences across retail and digital channels. Experts David Fica (CEO, Landvegas) and Juan Ignacio Juanena (COO, Azar Latino) will outline the operational steps necessary to integrate payments, loyalty programs, customer data, and user experience into a cohesive omnichannel ecosystem.

Beyond its conference agenda, SBC Summit Americas will serve as a vital meeting point for the companies, technologies, and discussions that are shaping the future of payments and technology across the region.

On the exhibition floor, attendees can engage with leading payments and fintech companies, including PayNearMe, Paysafe, Signature Payments, and ElenPAY. The Payments & Fintech Walk-Around Tour will offer direct access to the brands and solutions making an impact in the region.

Delegates can also participate in payment-focused networking opportunities, such as the Payments & Fintech Exchange, Payments in LATAM Briefing, Crypto Briefing, and the Industry Trends & Emerging Tech speed networking session.

SBC Summit Americas is scheduled to take place from June 9 to 11, 2026, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
